Manjit Boparai is a 49-year-old Indian-Australian cab driver who is so proud of being an Aussie that he has composed a music album where he sings about his love for Australia and its people. He has sold nearly 2,000 copies of his homemade CD to his cab customers and his songs have played on various radio stations including, 4BC, Triple J, News Australia, 97.3, ABC. He has done over 20 live interviews and also had a number of tv appearances.
He is a “proud migrant” and believes that Australia is the best place on earth to live. He has a passionate respect for the Australian war veterans which motivates him to donate his cab to the Anzac day parade each year; this is the ninth year in a row he has done this! Manjit feels that this is his way of expressing his gratitude to the war veterans for protecting our land. Manjit is also a regular Blood donor and feels strongly about giving to his nation wherever he can.
Full of enthusiasm and determination he is about to make a video clip for his most popular song “Song Australia”, which features on his first album. He talks to passengers about his dreams everyday and plays his patriotic music to them.
